TranscenDance 26/27

This school year, transcenDANCE will introduce experienced Teaching Artists to STEAM and SVA. These artists will lead interactive dance classes for 6th to 8th graders, emphasizing movement-based learning through culturally affirming dance styles and fostering creative expression. This approach aims to enhance students' self-awareness, promote various learning methods, and boost confidence, following the best practices in the Creative Youth Development field, outside of regular school hours.

Practice days, times, and location:

• Session: Monday, September 14th, 2026 through Friday, June 11th, 2026
• Spring Valley Academy and STEAM Academy in their Multipurpose Room
• Students will be served an evening snack before the class begins.

SVA - Monday 3:35-5:00 pm and Tuesdays 2:30-4:00 pm, transcenDANCE class

STEAM - Thursday and Friday 3:05-4:35 pm, transcenDANCE class

Participation and registration are FREE. This program is being offered at no cost to students and is funded through our Extended Student Services, Expanded Learning Program. Enrollment in the ESS program is not necessary or required to participate.
